This boutique shared safari offers an intimate yet social way to experience Northern Tanzania's wildlife highlights. While you will share the thrill of the chase in a custom 4x4 vehicle with fellow travellers, your accommodation remains entirely private, ensuring a restful retreat at the end of each dusty day. With a maximum of seven guests, everyone is guaranteed a window seat and access to the pop-up roof for unobstructed photography.
The journey begins in Tarangire, a sanctuary famous for its colossal elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, before ascending to the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. This volcanic caldera acts as a natural enclosure for over 25,000 large mammals, providing arguably the most reliable Big Five sightings in East Africa within a breathtakingly unique geological setting.
We conclude the adventure at Lake Manyara National Park, a lush contrast to the open plains. Here, you will navigate through groundwater forests and acacia woodlands searching for the legendary tree-climbing lions and vast flocks of pink flamingos that fringe the alkaline lake, before returning to Arusha as a true connoisseur of the Tanzanian wilderness.
Day by Day
Following a morning briefing, journey to the 'Home of Elephants' for an afternoon of game viewing among the baobabs. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River, observing wildlife as they come to drink at the water's edge.
Descend 600 metres into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater floor for a full day of game viewing in this UNESCO World Heritage site. This self-contained ecosystem offers the highest density of predators and the best chance to spot all the Big Five in a single day.
Explore the diverse habitats of Lake Manyara, from the hippo pool to the steaming hot springs. After a morning seeking out monkeys, giraffes, and colourful birdlife, you will begin the drive back to Arusha for your onward arrangements.
The dry months from June to October offer the most prolific wildlife sightings as animals congregate around water sources. However, the lush green scenery from January to March is exceptional for bird watching and newborn calves.
