Day by Day
Airport welcome and transfer to a family-friendly lodge with gardens and a pool — time to shake off the flight and meet your guide.
A gentle first safari day in nearby Arusha National Park — giraffes, colobus monkeys and Mount Meru views, with an optional short guided walk the children love.
Drive to Tarangire for an afternoon with the elephants. Tonight's lodge has a pool — and often elephants at the waterhole below.
Morning in Tarangire, then on to Lake Manyara for flamingos, monkeys and the famous tree-climbing lions before overnighting in green Karatu.
Down into the crater — the one place children are almost guaranteed to see lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and hippo in a single day. Picnic by the hippo pool.
Visit a Maasai community this morning — jumping dances, beadwork and a very warm welcome — then return to Arusha for your onward flight.
Wonderful all year — June–October and the Christmas–Easter school holidays are family favourites, so book early for those windows.
